Two new Master´s degrees launched

Two new Master´s degrees have been incorporated into the study program of the German Sport University Cologne: the M.A. International Sport Development and Politics and the M.Sc. Psychology in Sport and Exercise which were both launched in October 2016.

  • M.A. International Sport Development and Politics

The M.A. International Sport Development and Politics aims at a comprehensive understanding of structures, actors and conflicts in sport and physical activity. It offers an international focus on sport, including transnational and comparative dimensions.  In order to obtain a profound knowledge and understanding of sport in its political, social, cultural and economic framework, the Master program combines sport sciences with humanities, social sciences and economics. The program is highly research oriented and fosters problem-solving capacities as well as methods for understanding and analysing sport.

  • M.Sc. Psychology in Sport and Exercise

Sport psychology is a discipline of growing relevance in elite, leisure and health sport. The English-language scientific master programme “Psychology in Sport and Exercise” provides the basis for a variety of career perspectives, particularly in sport psychology, psychology or sport science research. The program combines natural and social sciences and delivers interdisciplinary skills and techniques to prepare the students for the world of employment.
