SUMMARY:FIS, ORCID & Co.: Enter your data once – use it multiple times
DESCRIPTION:At the DSHS in Cologne, the Research Information System (FIS) s
erves as the database underpinning our research portal. In addition, there
are university-independent platforms such as ORCID, which are linked to man
y other systems (e.g. publishers/journals, repositories, funding organisati
ons, databases).\n\nIn this workshop, we will take a practical look at how
data exchange between FIS, ORCID and other platforms works:\n\nWhat informa
tion can be transferred (e.g. publications, projects, research activities/s
ervices)? What needs to be maintained where, and what can be automated?Which
settings/workflows ensure that data remains consistent and does not need t
o be maintained in duplicate?\n\nWe’ll test this directly on your own profi
les and explain how you can improve your academic visibility with as little
effort as possible.\n\n\n\nSpeakers: Dr Claudia Combrink and Dr Johannes F
unken, Department of Research and Academic Development\n\nDate and time: 29
  September 2026, 10.30 am – 12 noon\n\nVenue: Online; a link will be sent a
fter registration\n\nTarget audience: All researchers and PhD students\n\nF
ormat: Online workshop\n\nAE: 2\n\nRegistration: Please register by 15 Sept
