Preparation – Find & Create Your Idea
The start-up teaching at DSHS is intended to familiarize students with the topic of business start-ups as a first point of contact, to prepare them and to give them the opportunity to develop start-up ideas and to try them out "in a protected setting". The main aim is to identify start-up opportunities in sports science, to acquire basic and planning skills and to produce own business ideas and finally to present them during the Ideathlon. The Ideathlon, at the end of the semester, is the "first" show stage for the start-up projects from Entrepreneurship Education. Here, the student teams present their start-up ideas in the form of a poster congress in front of a jury of experts. Interested parties from the Cologne University Network can also watch the Ideathlon. In addition to providing insights into the seminar projects, the Ideathlon primarily has a networking and competitive character. The expert jury and the audience nominate and select the most convincing projects here, which can then be followed up in the StarS Kader, for example.
The Promoters Think Tank is aimed at scientists with practice-relevant research results who want to network interdisciplinarily and develop start-up and transfer-relevant projects and transfer them to the first steps of implementation.
Founders with knowledge-based, innovative start-up ideas who are interested in applying for start-up-preparatory funding programs and meet the application requirements are offered intensive consulting by the start-up service to sharpen their business idea and support them in applying for public funding programs.
In the RFH Cologne Open Innovation Challenge, students interested in starting a business are encouraged to participate in the development of innovative ideas and solutions to questions posed by established companies ("challenge givers") and to develop their own business ideas. The teams are accompanied by the Project Cologne team and - in exchange with the company - supported in the exploration of solution approaches, the development of prototypes and test phases. In a final pitch event, all ideas are evaluated by a jury of experts from business, science and the educational context, and the best idea is awarded prize money. More Info
