Meeting of the Sport and Social Cohesion Lab in Olomouc

Meeting of the Sport and Social Cohesion Lab in Olomouc

The second international Sport and Social Cohesion Lab (SSCL) meeting took place in the city of Olomouc at the beginning of June. The SSCL project uses a highly-participatory Living Lab approach  to engage participants, generate understanding of the elements that promote social cohesion in a sport setting and to develop relevant tools to allow for the exploration, measurement and improvement of social cohesion outcomes.

At the meeting, the partnering NGOs and universities from Czech Republic, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands presented their work progress and discussed current challenges, lessons and ways forward for their respective Living Labs.

After 1,5 days of intense brainstorming, discussions and presentations, the partners were able to watch a football3 tournament featuring youth from the Olomouc region, organized by the Czech partner "fotbal pro Rozvoj". The next steps of this innovative, pan-European project will be to continue the theoretical and practical work based on the gained knowledge as well as the creation of a toolkit, which will be released next year.

Thank you to our Czech colleagues for the warm hospitality and great organization!
