Summer School - Sport in China and Europe

1st Summer School on Leisure Sport,  Tourism and Sport Studies in Germany 
This Summer School - organized by the Institute of European Sport Development and Leisure Studies together with Shanghai University of Sport – offers the opportunity to become familiar with leisure, sport and tourism in Germany and Europe. The Summer School addresses academic approaches to leisure studies and tourism.

Public Transportation
A ticket for public transportation will be provided for the entire duration of the summer school.

Budgetary matters
Summer school covers accommodation (including breakfast), lunch (at German Sport University), seminars and lectures (generally twice a day) and field trips (Cologne: boat tour river rhine, cathedral; Cologne: Olympic Museum, Cologne: public viewing event; trip to Bonn, trip to Ruhr area, trip to Brussels; ice-hockey match, E-Bike trip and more)

The summer school provides general and specific information about sport, leisure, tourism and sport studies in Germany. Each day two teaching sections are planned (one in the morning and the other in the afternoon). In order to obtain a substantial overview on sport, leisure and tourism the summer school combines theoretical seminars and practical experiences. For details see the flyer of the summer school.

The language (literature and discussions) will at all times be English. In some cases additional Chinese translation will be provided. 

Examination, Grading and Certificate
At the end of the summer school a written test has to be written. Based on the results grades will be given by SUS and a certificate will be issued by German Sport University.

The Institute of Sport Development and Leisure Studies (German Sport University) takes care for program and contents.  It is expected that all students take regularly part in the classes as well as in the field trips. As far as compulsory seminars of German Sport University are attended it is awaited that all requirements for participation will be fulfilled. Week-ends are usually left for individual projects and activities. Instructions given by the academics in charge or the researchers that guide the summer school have to be fulfilled.
