M.A. Olympic Studies presented at IOC´s OSRC Network Conference

Stephan Wassong was one of the keynote speakers at the first Online Session of the Olympic Studies and Research Centres` network that was organized by the The Olympic Studies Centre of the IOC chaired by Nuria Puig. The topic of the Online Session focused on teaching activities in Olympic Studies. 

In his presentation, Stephan Wassong (Director of the M.A. Olympic Studies) shared his experience with the international study programme. He informed participants about the foundation of the programme and its successful development in the landscape of Olympic Studies. In his opinion, the success of the programme must be attributed to the unique profile of the programme in terms of educational objectives, modular part-time structure and the programme`s support by the International Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity.

In addition to this, Stephan Wassong stressed that the programme is not only managed by the Olympic Study Centre (OSC) of the German Sport University but by a network of leading academic OSCs affiliated with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, University of Canterbury, University of New Zealand, Aarhus University Denmark, Kiel University of Applied Sciences Germany and the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Maria Bogner, Head of the Olympic Studies Centre at the IOC also attended the meeting and welcomed the participants, adding up to 35 people following the session.
