Pyeongchang International Conference for Olympic Studies and Research Centres

The Pyeongchang International Conference for Olympic Studies and Research Centres took place from 27th - 30th November 2023 in Pyeongchang, South Korea. It was organized by the PyeongChang 2018 Legacy foundation in cooperatuion with Pyeongchang County and acknowledged by The IOC Olympic Studies Centre (IOC OSC). It hosted representatives of 27 international Olympic Studies and Research Centres.

The Olympic Studies Centre at the German Sport University Cologne was represented by Daniel Quanz, who gave a presentation titled "Sport under Attack? - The Takeover and Suspension of the Guatemalan Olympic Committee in 2022". The conference was an opportunity to exchange and connect with scholars from the field of Olympic Studies from all over the world. The IOC OSC, represented by its Director Maria Bogner and Head of University Relations Nuria Puig, hosted a special session informing on The IOC Olympic Studies Centres projects and  initiatives to increase exchange between international Olympic Studies and Research Centres.
