In addition to the GSU internal events, you will also find events from the Gateway network on the topics of transfer and start-up. Transfer Think Tank

Transfer Think Tank

Within the Transfer Think Tank, scientists can further develop their research-based transfer ideas or already initiated transfer projects in interdisciplinary teams and with the support of the Transfer Office and Start-Up Consulting department as well as external experts.

 

In addition to professional support (including the identification of funding opportunities) for all transfer ideas of the Transfer Think Tank, the most promising projects will receive additional internal funding as well as workshops tailored to their needs for the initiation or further development of their transfer projects.

 

Scientists at all career levels (from doctoral students to professors) with their own transfer ideas and/or an interest in participating in interdisciplinary teams in transfer projects are eligible to participate.

Summer School in Knowledge and Technology Transfer

With the Summer School for Qualification in Knowledge and Technology Transfer, the German Sport University Cologne offers its scientists the opportunity to acquire basic transfer skills. The blended learning format is tailored to the context of sport and thus seamlessly expands the awareness of knowledge and technology transfer at the German Sport University Cologne. The Summer School is aimed at doctoral students, scientists* and master students.

StarS Kader

StarS Kader

The StarS squad is a university-owned accelerator of the German Sport University Cologne, in which potential founders of the Cologne universities with sport-related ideas are accompanied on their way to independence. Within this framework, the teams are both further qualified and individually coached and accompanied on their way to applying for funding or follow-up financing.

The next application phase for the StarS squad will not begin again until early 2023.

Starting-up within Sports

  • Sporthilfe Start-up Academy:enables athletes with start-up ambitions to take the first steps towards their own company. In the workshops, participants learn how to develop their business ideas to the point where they are ready for launch and how to present them to potential investors.
    • At the end of the two-part seminar series, the athletes compete in theSporthilfe Start-up of the year competition, which consists of a public online vote and a pitch session in front of a jury of experts. Both partial results are equally divided in the overall result. The award is endowed with the DKB Start-up Premium of 12,000 euros. Each year, up to 20 athletes are supported on their way to their first start-up.

  • Impact Factory: The Impact Factory supports social entrepreneurs in developing innovative solutions to complex social and environmental challenges. For this purpose, regular online "bootcamps" take place. The program is aimed at
    • founders from all over Germany who would like to offer added human, social and/or ecological value with their business idea
    • both founders with an initial idea and founders who have already completed a first product version and are working on their market entry strategy
    • Duration: 5 months
    • Financial support by covering the costs of specific consulting services

  • yooweedoo: the Academy for Social Entrepreneurship. It supports you in founding sustainable, public welfare oriented and social entrepreneurial projects, associations and startups.   •  Social Entrepreneurship Academy:The SEA offers a variety of programs and activities for young entrepreneurs. The focus is on current social challenges - and the corresponding solutions.   • KUER.NRW supports founders and start-ups in the future-oriented sectors of climate, environment, energy efficiency and resource conservation (KUER). Specially accredited KUER mentors, specialists, industry experts and angel investors accompany them through all phases of their start-up - from brainstorming to the preparation of the business plan to the founding of the company market launch and financing, individually oriented to their needs. Participation is free of charge.
  • Green Start-up Programm: promotes company foundations and start-ups that develop solutions for the environment, ecology and sustainability in an innovative and economically viable manner.

  • Woman Entrepreneurs Parcours (WEP) is the online platform for more visibility of women founders and their innovative start-ups and presents their business ideas. WEP is open to all start-ups in which women are relevantly represented as founders. This means: Either the CEO is a woman or half of the founding team consists of women. If you would like to present your "female start-up" on the WEP platform, please send an email with a short description of your business idea (400 characters), logo and contact details to  - with the keyword "WEP″ in the subject line. 
  • The podcast FE.MALE FOUNDERS presents inspiring development and success stories of female founders.
  • Women Entrepreneurs in Science wants to create a network for NRW universities to connect female founders and women interested in founding a company and to create a positive, inspiring environment and a common drive.
