The Institute Institute of European Sport Development and Leisure Studies and its Chair awarded the Jean-Monnet-Chair in 2011. The Jean-Monnet-Chair aims a better understanding of the European Union. To this end, the Jean-Monnet-Chair aligns the "Jean Monnet Lectures on Sports Politics". Since winter term 2011/2012 scientists from the GSU and abroad are lecturing on current challenges to the sports policy and provide an insight into current research activities.
External speakers and experts from the GSU lecture on topics such as politics and sports, sport in specific countries or continental contexts and challenges at major sporting events.
