Project Description

On behalf of and in cooperation with the German Sports Youth (dsj), the Institute of European Sport Development and Leisure Research, under the direction of Dr. Karen Petry, is designing an interactive online self-learning module entitled "Education for sustainable development in children's and youth sport - the potential of exercise, play and sport and methodological approaches".

The module is part of an online training program that will consist of 12 modules in total. The module will be made available on the BMBF's ESD portal in spring 2024. The further training offer is aimed at education officers in non-formal and informal learning and enables free further training in the context of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The module, which is currently being developed by the IESF team, introduces participants to the methodological approach of movement, play and sport (BeSS). The module shows the background to the BeSS approach and enables participants to apply and embed the method in their own educational context.
