Project Description
Coordinated by the organisation Citizens in Power (C.I.P.), the project Football for a Chance (F4aC) intends to utilize the transformative power of football in a way that will foster social inclusion, healthy living, career development, and community well-being. Bringing together stakeholders such as football-managers, coaches and officials, F4aC will improve their capacities to foster inclusivity, gender sensitivity, and cultural and social diversity within their organisational development. Central to the project is the development of a novel digital application including customized educational modules on football skills, tactics, nutrition, personal development, pathways to careers in football as well as on inclusive football. Additionally, the digital application will also include an interactive digital map of accessible football facilities developed in partnership with municipalities and local institutions, intended to overcome some of the key geographic and financial barriers to participation. Together these resources will provide marginalized groups and football stakeholders with specialized training to foster equitable practices and inclusive environments in football, advancing the sport for social inclusion and equality. The project will target those who face barriers to social inclusion and participation and unequal opportunities in accessing football, such as migrants, women, and people with socio-economic constraints.
The team from the German Sport University will be mainly responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of the project outcomes and develop parts of the educational content available for the participating organisations and individuals.
