Research activities of the Institute of Movement and Sport Gerontology focus on age-related changes in physical and cognitive functioning, neuromuscular adaptability, and everyday physical activity.

Research outcomes are used to develop evidence-based interventions which allow older people to maintain an active and independent lifestyle.

The Institute’s research facilities include a well-equipped laboratory for movement analysis as well as ambulatory equipment for assessment and monitoring of mobility related activities.
