The conference fee covers rental for the conference room, on-site catering (hot and cold drinks, snacks) and lunch in the Mensa on Friday, November 14. Please note that it does not cover drinks and food at the Get Together and dinner, nor public transport and accomodation.

Venue and Directions

The conference will be held at the German Sport University Cologne. The academic program will take place in Lecture Hall 5, located in the basement of the Elite Training Centre for Hockey and Judo, Guts-Muths-Weg 1, 50933 Cologne. For directions at the campus, please also see our campus map. The venue is marked as Building C3.

To reach the conference venue via public transport, tram line 1 is the most convenient option. The stop “Junkersdorf” is within walking distance of the conference venue. Please have a look to the map for the rail services Cologne.

Accommodation
The on-campus Guest House of the German Sport University (located in the same building as the conference venue) offers affordable rooms.

Another nearby standard option would be Essentials by Dorint. B&B Marsdorf is another affordable option with convenient access to the venue. However, it may not be located in one of Cologne’s most charming neighborhoods. When booking alternative options, we recommend choosing one close to tram line 1.

WIFI:
At the conference venue, you can access the Wi-Fi either via eduroam or through a guest account. Log-in details will be provided on site.

Name tags:

In line with our sustainability goals, we have chosen not to distribute plastic badges. Instead, participants will receive paper name labels with their name and affiliation.

Presentations

If you are presenting at the conference, please take note of the following guidelines:

• Each speaker will have 13 minutes for their presentation. Session chairs will keep time strictly.
• Please bring your presentation as a .pptx and/or .pdf file on a USB stick, or send it the day before your talk to ecrea_sports_2025@­dshs-koeln.de.
• Online presenters will receive a Webex link in advance. If you are unfamiliar with Webex, please take some time to familiarize yourself with the platform (it works very similarly to Teams or Zoom).
