Online Meeting B-WISER
The European Project „Be a Winner in elite Sport and Employment before and after athletic Retirement” (B-WISER) is in progress. For a presentation of the preliminary EU results of the first work package, there was a two-hour online meeting with the B-WISER consortium on September 5th. The data collection on employability and employment support and the perception of challenges, barriers and resources for active and former athletes includes 133 stakeholders so far. It was agreed that the data collection will be extended until the end of September to gather more responses of different stakeholders.
A further point of the online meeting was the preparation of the second work package. The aim of the second work package is the identification of required and developed competencies by active and former elite athletes. The project group will prepare an online survey, which includes a formative self-evaluation tool for (former) athletes and a support-identification tool for support providers to create competency profiles of athletes and enhance their employability and employment.
The research partners of the B-WISER project and Patrick Glennon (representing the Adecco Group) will meet in Halmstad in November. A discussion of the final results of the first work package and the preparation of data collection of the second work package will be on the agenda.
