M.Sc. Psychology in Sport and Exercise

As per the admission regulations for all Master’s programmes, the following admission requirements apply:

  • Completed degree (no less than six semesters) in a related field of study (Subject-specific requirements regarding the relevancy are listed in annex A of the admission regulations)
  • Proof of ability (above-average final grade of either 2.5 or higher in the German system or B according to ECTS)
  • Personal qualification (proven by Curriculum Vitae (CV) and letter of motivation) and professional qualification.

All lectures and courses in this Master’s programme will be in English. As a result, all students are required to demonstrate certified proficiency in the English language. Proof of language proficiency may be demonstrated through any of the following language test certificates:

  • TOEFL iBT (≥ 95 points)
  • IELTS Academic (≥ 7 points)
  • Cambridge Certificate (CAE) at C1 level following the European Reference Framework for Languages (GER)

There are exceptions to this requirement. Native English speakers or graduates who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from an English-language programme at a university within the European Union or in a country where English is the official language are exempted.

German language proficiency is not compulsory for a successful application, however we strongly recommend all students to have some basic knowledge of the German language.

⇒ Contrary to all other degree courses, the sport qualification test is not compulsory for the admission to any master programme at the German Sport University.

Please note: individual relevance test of the completed course of studies

For capacity reasons, it is not possible to carry out a personalised relevance assessment of undergraduate studies before admission.

Annex A of the Master’s admission regulations (available for download) specifies the study requirements that must be fulfilled. Prospective students can use this to self-assess their completed study contents and determine whether to apply.
