As part of our family support services, we help you – as a (prospective) employee or student with child(ren), care responsibilities or other family commitments – to balance family life, your studies and your career.

We offer free, personalised advice

We can advise you on any queries you may have and the support available to help you balance family commitments, your studies and your career. The Family Service offers, amongst other things:

Advice on our family-friendly working and study conditions at the German Sport University,
Support services for (prospective) staff with children, such as the family grant, work-life balance coaching or arrangements for flexible working locations,
Dual Career & Family Support: advice for newly appointed researchers and their partners on dual careers and balancing family and work, ranging from childcare to questions regarding caring for relatives,
Information for pregnant students on continuing their sports studies and taking maternity leave and parental leave,
Advice for (prospective) students with children on prioritising course selection and other support measures for studying whilst raising children,
Assistance in securing nursery places for the children of students or (including future) staff at the University of Sport, as well as holiday childcare during all school holiday weeks (except the Christmas holidays) throughout the year,
Advice on support options for students or staff with care responsibilities, and
Assistance in arranging relevant support services outside the University of Sport for members of the university community with children or care responsibilities.
