Transfer Advisory Service & Coaching

The Transfer Advisory Service at the German Sport University Cologne supports researchers in translating scientific findings into practical applications. Together, we identify the innovation potential of your research and develop ways to put solutions for sport, physical activity and health into practice.

In doing so, we advise on suitable funding opportunities, initiate partnerships between the university, industry and society, and create spaces for dialogue and collaboration. We also support those interested in starting a business by helping them to further develop their ideas and take the first steps towards setting up their own enterprise.

We’re the right choice for you if you …

  • wish to (further) develop research findings with practical relevance
  • wish to make use of funding opportunities for knowledge transfer projects
  • Are looking for potential applications in the fields of sport, physical activity or health
  • Wish to attract cooperation partners from industry or the professional sector
  • are considering start-ups, intellectual property rights or commercialisation
  • Have some initial questions and are looking for guidance without obligation

We support you through every stage of the transfer – from the initial idea right through to implementation.

These include, amongst others:

  • Assessment of the innovation potential of your research
  • Identification of areas of application in sport, physical activity and health
  • Development of transfer and commercialisation strategies
  • Establishing collaborations with companies and partners in the field
  • Advice on funding opportunities
  • Support with start-up projects
  • Protection of intellectual property (e.g. patents)
