The German Sport University Cologne is Germany’s only university dedicated to sport and sport science – and that is precisely what makes studying here so special.

Our range of courses includes teacher training for all five types of school, five Bachelor’s degree programmes in sport science, eight consecutive Master’s degree programmes, six postgraduate Master’s degree programmes, and doctoral programmes. Across 19 academic institutes, we research sport in all its facets – from performance and health, through education and management, to media, technology and society.

Our aim is to provide a study experience grounded in excellent research and to communicate the latest findings in sport science in a clear and effective manner. Because for us, sport is more than just exercise – sport is what drives us.

Each semester, exchange students from all around the world come to the German Sport University Cologne through our network of more than 60 partner universities. As Germany’s only university dedicated exclusively to sport, GSU offers a unique academic environment for students who want to combine their studies with an international experience.
