The consecutive Master’s programmes are designed as four-semester full-time courses and enable you to specialise academically in various areas of Sport science. You will benefit from the close integration of research and teaching, as well as from internationally recognised qualifications (M.A. or M.Sc.). Depending on the degree programme, you will study in German or English as part of a modular course with clearly defined learning objectives.

The consecutive Master’s degree programmes at the German Sport University Cologne are designed as full-time on-campus programmes. This means that teaching sessions generally take place on campus and the programme is structured to be completed within a standard period of study of four semesters.

A Master’s degree programme at the German Sport University Cologne comprises 120 credit points (CP).
Credit points reflect the total workload involved in your degree programme – for example, courses, preparation and follow-up work, examinations and self-study. One credit point corresponds to 30 hours of work.
Important: Credit points indicate the scope of the programme, not the assessment of your performance. The quality of your performance is assessed through marks. Credit points are awarded once the relevant coursework and examinations for a module have been successfully completed.
The consecutive Master’s degree programmes at the German Sport University Cologne have a standard period of study of four semesters.
This usually corresponds to two years of full-time study. Students can commence their studies at the start of the winter semester.
For each Master’s degree programme, there are currently 30 places per year group (cohort) available.
As places on these degree programmes are subject to admission restrictions, they are allocated as part of the respective application and selection process.
