The German Sport University Cologne, founded in 1947, is regarded both nationally and internationally as a leading institution in the field of sport science. Across 19 institutes, as well as several affiliated institutes and transfer centres, we conduct interdisciplinary research into complex societal issues – ranging from elite sport and performance optimisation, through education, prevention and health, to digital training methods, sport psychology, inclusion and sustainability. Located in the heart of Cologne’s green belt, Germany’s only sports university offers state-of-the-art facilities and an inspiring environment for around 6,000 students from over 85 countries and 1,000 staff members. Over 60 international university partnerships strengthen the global exchange of knowledge and innovation. Our President's Office leads and represents the University in all strategic, academic and administrative matters. Together with our academic institutes, central departments and committees, it develops the University’s strategic guidelines – with a clear aim: to shape research, teaching and knowledge transfer in a forward-looking manner.
The President's Office comprises the President as Chair, four Vice-Presidents and the Chancellor.
