Appointments Monitor


Stage of the process: Interview

The shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview. This will consist of:

  • at least one academic lecture open to the university community, relating to the subject area of the professorship, and, where appropriate, a teaching demonstration of an appropriate duration,
  • a presentation of the candidate’s future research profile and teaching approach,
  • a closed-door interview with the members of the appointment committee.

Stage of the procedure: Interview

  • a closed-door discussion with the members of the Appointments Committee.

Stage of the process: Offer of appointment and appointment negotiations

The candidate ranked first receives an offer from the Vice-Chancellor and is invited to appointment negotiations. If the offer is not accepted, the candidate ranked second is contacted.

State of procedure: Appointment and appeal negotiations

The candidate ranked first is offered the post by the Rector and invited to attend appointment negotiations. If the offer is not accepted, contact is made with the next-ranked candidate.


Stage of the process: Pre-selection

The appointments committee reviews the application documents to ensure that the general and specific recruitment criteria are met; where necessary, any missing documents will be requested. A pre-selection is made on the basis of the criteria set out in the vacancy notice, and candidates are invited to attend an interview.
