Our work centres on the individual – not merely a diagnosis, a test result or an image. We aim to understand the person as a whole: their body and mind, their symptoms and capabilities, but also their thoughts, feelings, worries and fears. For us, therefore, thorough diagnosis begins with listening and understanding – and with asking what drives a person and what lies behind their symptoms.
Our decisions are guided by scientific findings from medicine and sports science, as well as by clinical experience. We use modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods where appropriate. In doing so, we adopt a treatment approach that is as gentle as possible and initially conservative, without losing sight of any necessary further or surgical treatments.
Particularly in the case of acute sports and accident injuries, we aim to be immediately and easily accessible. A prompt medical assessment can help to initiate necessary measures at an early stage, avoid unnecessary detours and provide reassurance regarding the next steps. In particular, we aim to offer our students reliable and easily accessible medical care.
The human body possesses a great capacity for adaptation and change. Exercise and targeted physical stimuli can play a key role in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Sometimes it is right to treat, sometimes to support, and sometimes development simply needs time. We see finding the right decision at the right time together as an essential part of good medicine.
Health cannot be treated in isolation. Patients remain self-determined partners in their treatment process and take responsibility for their own health. We aim to support them in understanding the bigger picture, recognising their own potential and making informed decisions.
Where the capabilities of our outpatient clinic end, we work closely with medical and physiotherapy partners. This interdisciplinary collaboration enables us to combine diagnosis, treatment and exercise planning, and to provide appropriate support even for more complex injuries and symptoms.
This kind of healthcare takes time. We therefore set aside time for thorough diagnosis, personalised advice and the joint development of a plan tailored to each individual’s situation.
Our aim is not merely to treat symptoms. We want to support people in regaining their health, resilience and confidence in their own movement – and in continuing on their path as independently as possible.
Studying can be challenging. The Psychological Counseling Service supports students with personal and study-related stress and helps them develop individual coping strategies.
Topics for counseling may include, amongst others:
The aim of the counseling service is to address individual concerns, offer appropriate support and empower students to cope with challenges and crisis situations independently.
