Roll out of bed and be sitting in the lecture hall two minutes later

Right in the heart of the University of Sport’s campus, nestled between the canteen and the meadows, there are four halls of residence available to our students – comprising a total of 77 accommodation units. In addition, the “Wohnturm” run by the Cologne Student Services Organisation, which is also situated on our campus, offers more than 350 places to live. The tower is currently being refurbished and is expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of 2027. Rooms are also available in our guest house for overnight guests.

Halls of Residence A–D

Roll out of bed and be sitting in the lecture theatre two minutes later – that’s possible if you live in one of our four halls of residence (A–D) on campus. A total of 77 accommodation units are available. Halls of residence A–C offer single rooms only. In Hall D, both single and twin rooms are available. All rooms are fully furnished.

Facilities and information


Each hall of residence has a spacious kitchen-diner, shared bathrooms, a laundry room (with washing machine and tumble dryer) and a lockable bicycle storage room. Hall of Residence C also has accessible accommodation units. 


In Hall of Residence D, there is a spacious kitchen-diner, a utility room (with a washing machine and tumble dryer) and a bicycle rack outside the building. Each room has its own bathroom. 


  • The maximum tenancy period is three semesters. Tenancy agreements are concluded for one semester at a time.
  • Rental prices and application deadlines can be found on the hall of residence application form.
  • Only students at the German Sport University Cologne are eligible to live in the halls of residence.

Residential tower block

The ‘Tower’, as we call it, is also situated on the campus of Cologne Sport University and is managed by the Cologne Student Services Organisation. The hall of residence offers a total of 357 places. The living space ranges from 15 to 31 square metres. A total of 48 flats and shared flats (for 2, 3 and 4 people) are available. The hall of residence is currently being refurbished and is expected to be available again by the end of 2027.

Guest House

The guest house of the German Sport University Cologne is situated on the edge of Cologne’s green belt, in the immediate vicinity of the RheinEnergieStadion and the various sports facilities at Sportpark Müngersdorf. Cologne city centre and the Cologne Exhibition Centre are easily accessible by public transport. The guest house offers 60 modern rooms with en-suite shower and toilet, a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, and conference, seminar and meeting rooms equipped with state-of-the-art media technology. The restaurant and cafeteria serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering a balanced, light and fresh menu featuring international dishes. The guest house’s close connection to sport is hard to miss: the same building complex houses the High-Performance Centre for Hockey and Judo, where training camps for a wide variety of elite sports squads are regularly held. The guest house is also home to the Rhineland Olympic Training Centre and the Coaching Academy. Private guests also feel very much at home in this sporting atmosphere.
