The Football for a Chance (F4aC) project, coordinated by the organization Citizens in Power (C.I.P.), aims to harness the positive impact of soccer in a targeted manner to promote social inclusion, a healthy lifestyle, career opportunities, and the common good.
By connecting stakeholders such as soccer managers, coaches, and officials, F4aC helps create and strengthen new capacities for inclusion, gender equality, and cultural and social diversity within soccer organizations.
At the heart of the project is the development of an innovative digital learning platform featuring learning content in form of educational modules centered around the inclusivity of sport and specifically football. The educational modules cover key topics such as technical skills, tactics, nutrition, personal development, professional sports, and inclusive soccer.
The platform is complemented by an interactive digital map of accessible soccer fields, which is being developed in collaboration with municipalities and local institutions. This map is intended to help break down geographical and financial barriers to accessing soccer and other sports facilities.
Through these combined resources, marginalized groups and stakeholders in the soccer community gain targeted professional development opportunities to promote fairness, equal opportunity, and inclusion in sports. F4aC is aimed in particular at people who are disadvantaged in soccer due to social exclusion, lack of participation, or unequal access, such as migrants, women, and people facing socioeconomic barriers.
The team from the German Sport University Cologne is primarily responsible for quality assurance and the evaluation of results within the project. It also develops selected educational content that is made available to participating organizations and individuals.
