Following the successful completion of your habilitation procedure, the habilitation thesis must be published in accordance with Section 11 of the Habilitation Regulations of the German Sport University Cologne. Publication is a prerequisite for the completion of the procedure. There are three possible forms of publication, all of which involve the submission of statutory copies to the university library.
Before publication, we recommend that you have the formal requirements of your habilitation thesis checked. For further information on the forms of publication and on the checking of formal requirements, please contact Christina Meyer at ZBSport.
What forms of publication are available?
Which data storage media and file formats should I use?
A CD must be used as the data storage medium. The habilitation thesis must be saved on the CD in PDF/A format.
What formal requirements must my habilitation thesis meet?
What deadlines do I need to observe?
The statutory copies must be submitted within three years of the decision on teaching qualification being made.
Upon a reasoned request submitted before the deadline expires, the Habilitation Committee may extend the submission deadline by one year.
What are the specific requirements for a cumulative habilitation thesis?
In the case of a cumulative habilitation thesis in accordance with Section 5(2) of the Habilitation Regulations, where substantial parts consist of publications in specialist journals or from specialist publishers, publication may be waived.
Where can I submit the mandatory copies?
Please arrange an appointment with the relevant contact person at the ZB Sport before submitting the copies.
