Dr Philipp Born, Head of the Tennis Teaching and Research Group at the Institute of Professional Sport Education and Sport Qualifications (IVKS), was once again invited to speak at the ITF World Coaches Conference (WCC).
This biennial international coaches’ conference brought together around 550 tennis coaches from all over the world in Vilnius (Lithuania) this year. On the first day of the conference, Philipp Born gave a presentation on ‘Principles of Effective Feedback and Corrections in Tennis’ as part of a joint session with Dr Caroline Martin (Rennes 2 University, France), Dr André Brito (University of Porto, Portugal) and Christophe Vanhecke (Belgian Tennis Federation).
Dr Philipp Born: “I was delighted with the positive feedback on my presentation. I was also able to take away valuable insights for my practical sports teaching and forge exciting international research contacts.” Last but not least, the recently published tennis textbook (“Tennis – The Practical Guide for Study, Training and Recreational Sport”, Springer-Verlag) by IVKS staff members Dr Philipp Born, Dr Ralph Grambow and Dr Dominik Meffert – which is currently being translated into English – also attracted a great deal of interest.
