Number of positive tests among medalists

In August 2017, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) published the results of its reanalysis program of doping samples from the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

A total of 111 doping violations were detected and sanctioned.

Further Retests from the 2012 London Summer Olympics

In 2021, the IOC published the final results of the retroactive doping tests for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
This increased the previous total of 45 positive doping tests to 73 positive findings.
