The event will focus on selected mountain sports activities (hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, via ferrata).
Yes, you will need your own gear: your own mountaineering clothing and
mountaineering boots or hiking boots. Your instructors will discuss with you during a preparatory session what you should keep in mind when purchasing
the necessary equipment. If you already own your own
mountaineering gear or are able to borrow some, please bring it with you to the
first session.
The course is offered as a field trip during the break between semesters. There is also a
mandatory preparatory session at the beginning of the semester. Please check the LSF at the start of the first
registration period for the exact
dates and locations of the field trips.
The course is offered only in the summer semester.
Yes, there are additional costs associated with this course (field trip fees). All
information regarding the nature and amount of these costs will be available in the course description in the LSF at the start of the first
registration period and will be communicated by
the instructor during the first class session.
No, purchasing a license is not part of this event.
Successful completion of the course requires both a written exam (with open-ended questions / “essay-style
exam”) and a practical exam. The practical exam is completed as an
individual assignment (planning and conducting a two-day trekking tour with
an overnight stay in a tent) accompanied by a written report, which must be submitted by the end of the semester. You will receive more detailed
information about the exams from your instructors during the course.
