What climatic conditions must we prepare for in the future? This crucial question for the development of adaptation strategies and measures is addressed by the presentation of the “Climate Guidelines” for the near future (2021–2050) and the distant future (2071–2100) for tourism in Baden-Württemberg. The “Climate Guidelines” present a plausible scenario based on various model calculations that illustrate the range of future climate change in Baden-Württemberg. Scientific expert reports from 2013 serve as a key substantive and methodological foundation for the adaptation strategy. They can be found on the LUBW website under the heading “Climate Change and Adaptation.” As part of these expert reports, vulnerability was assessed across the various action areas. Action goals were derived from these assessments, and adaptation measures were developed. The necessary research was supported by departmental working groups, in which experts from government, academia, and the professional field were able to contribute their experience and knowledge.
