Research Focus
The Institute for Outdoor Sports and Environmental Research has made it its mission to study the development of economically significant outdoor sports and to collect relevant data and information on sports participation. Winter sports tourism, in particular—which accounts for 43.3% of commercial overnight stays in the Alps—is of significant economic importance.
Through analyses and data collection, the institute seeks to address key questions about the future and identify future trends. Its scope of work also includes promoting winter sports among children and adolescents to proactively facilitate access to these sports.
